The dramas + movie was very satisfying despite flashbacks.Broadcast period: 2014-Oct-20 to 2014-Nov-25īased on the manga series “ Liar Game“ by Shinobu Kaitani which was first published on 2005 in Japanese magazine ‘ Weekly Young Jump‘. I will hiatus while reading other people’s comments and post again some other time. Also, the need to explain everything was a bit unrealistic but I guess that was the touch to showing the audience how everything happened. Katsuragi was a nice touch it added a bit more of a reality check to the movie since the manga was all based on the gimmick of psychology but all the way, it was just showing the impossibility of solutions that can come out but it happens to coincide to show favor in akiyama and Nao’s situation. Yes, perhaps the idea of akiyama and Nao being siblings would ruin the fangirl moments but it would work out as a plausible ending and explanation for the reasons of their growing relationship. In some ways, he was almost forced to help Nao again based on the circumstances.Īlso, about Akiyama’s past, the story was very well played out even though I doubt that was the way that the original manga intended. Also, it was another reason why he should go help Nao. And when Akiyama lost in the game in the movie and there was somebody who helped him, it was all to get him out of debt. But I also agree that he could in some way benefit from her since she was the main source to the solution of their worries.

In the end, it was because Akiyama decided to help Nao that was the main reason why he had all those troubles. I agree with the comments about how Akiyama wanted to protect Nao. That was a nice stunt for their plan although it made me think how their relationship was deriving off what the manga originally intended. Also, when Nao slapped him, I gasped and laughed. The movie granted my wish and provided an almost satisfying ending. When Akiyama touched her lips I was fangirling so much. HOW COULD YOU?!’ That got a bit annoying until during season 2 when it made sort of an interesting turn and made viewers anticipate further cooperations between Nao and Fukunaga. I was literally yelling at the screen going ‘NAO, AGAIN?!’ and to Fukunaga ‘FUKUNAGA. Still, there was always that stereotypical case where Nao fell for some trick and Fukunaga was the traitor. The music was really cute and suited the situations in most cases. The flashbacks were a bit much since it kept repeating a lot of climatic scenes, causing it to irritate the viewer instead of raise the suspense. Also, she has learned to somewhat deceive people despite not ‘lying’.įirst season was pretty well done and second season also didn’t let me down too much. Nao on the other hand has matured significantly. In sorts, he learned from Nao that it isn’t always about calculating and playing mind games. I had hesitated to write at first but now that I’ve finished both seasons and the movie in three days, I have much to say.Īkiyama definitely has some sort of development trying to use people’s feelings to win the game.
